When we’re not at war, we’re in a race. That’s simply how we evolve. Gene pool survival is almost a zero sum game. Money, wealth, and increase of standard of living are not.
So those who seek money are less likely to go to war than those wanting to survive in the gene pool.

Civilians no longer get killed nowadays not because they’re powerless and hence innocent.
To the opposite, civilians have become very powerful under democratic rules that most politicians do not want to mess around killing them.

Humans are evil, hypocritical, and coward. We’re set up to kill each other. So we do.
Then we come up with fairy tales to justify it. The main reason, often if not the only one, why we do not kill each other is simply because we fear each other.

It’s because different laws govern different countries. In rich countries, the law motivate people to be productive. In poor countries, productive consensual means to satisfy ones’ greed is prohibited or stiffled. So the people simply satisfy their greeds through corruptions and dictatorship.

The problem with religions are not that they support violence, or peace.
The problem is that the religions support mercy when justice demand violent response, and violence when there isn’t anything significant to retaliate too.
