Why Marriage Is An Obsolette Institution?
Why?
That’s because we have blood tests to know fatherhood. That is a more practical and humane way to know your kid.
Also, contraception means people can have sex without making kids.
Finally, whether a kid will get financial support or not depend on whether the father is rich or not far more than commitments of the father in our much more abundance society nowadays.
So why people get married? Social pressure.
Why society pressure people to get married? Marriage is a trap. Societies regulate marriage and hence can insert various third parties interests in the marriage contract.
The most notorious ones are monogamy restrictions that ration females in equal share for everyone manner.
The Muslim countries allow polygamy, but prohibit women to force divorce. So, marriages become a trap for women. Because people do not have sex before marriage, marriage becomes more like buying cats in a hidden bag. After which, it’s difficult to break free.
Such market friction will then benefit those who do not have better offer.
