Abundance Life and Endangered Species
Some aspects of life are not zero sum game. We live in a potentially very abundant world.
However, some important aspects of life, such as your percentage in the gene pool, are zero sum game.
Many people believe that life is abundant. Those people then avoid looking at aspects of life that are zero sum games, such as the all important gene pool survival.
Hence, such people, while they make our world a better place, become rare.
Quite ironically they allocate their efforts to save koalas, dodos, unicorns, mermaids, and who knows what else.
Perhaps they do so out of solidarity. The truly endangered species they should preserve is them selves.
